Excel Extended Care Organization was founded in 2010 by Ebony Danford, a dedicated single mother of three boys. Her vision was to establish a supportive community for struggling mothers, uplifting them and fostering relationships to access valuable resources.
Established as a community-based nonprofit disaster relief resource, Excel Extended Care Organization (EECO) operates as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The organization is committed to service, mentorship, and outreach, particularly focusing on low-income, devalued individuals in need of assistance.
Dedicated to servicing the community for over a decade, EECO's programs emphasize the importance of family, individual knowledge, and the inherent rights of every client to be treated with dignity and respect. The organization has consistently stepped up to aid the most vulnerable and undertaken challenging tasks to help individuals rebuild their lives and reach their full potential.
EECO is governed by a 5-Member Executive Board and a 4-Member Advisory Board, representing a diverse cross-section of Southern Nevada communities.
The organization proudly holds a 50% veteran-owned, women-owned, and minority-owned status. This diversity reflects in the comprehensive support provided to low-income seniors, children, teens, women, men, veterans, people with disabilities, and homeless individuals and families.
EECO's programs are designed to assist people from all walks of life, regardless of race, religion, or economic status. The organization provides resources and referral assistance to approximately 400 unduplicated individuals and families on a monthly basis.
Operating on a projected annual budget of $50,000, EECO sustains its programs through a combination of fundraising, private and individual donations, and support from foundations. This financial model ensures the organization's ability to continue its vital mission of helping those in need within the community.
Excel Extended Care Organization remains steadfast in its commitment to service, diversity, and empowering individuals to overcome challenges and achieve a better quality of life.
Excel Extended Care Organization (EECO) is a dynamic and inclusive nonprofit, proudly holding a 50% veteran-owned, women-owned, and minority-owned status. Our commitment to diversity is reflected in the comprehensive support we provide to a broad spectrum of individuals, including low-income seniors, children, teens, women, men, veterans, people with disabilities, and homeless individuals and families.
At Excel Extended Care Organization, our mission is to provide vital services that support and empower veterans, low-income families, seniors, at-risk youth, and individuals facing unforeseen life crises. We are committed to delivering compassionate, competent, and professional assistance, along with valuable resources, to strengthen and support these individuals and families. Our aim is to create a community where everyone, irrespective of their circumstances, can access the necessary tools and support to overcome challenges and achieve personal growth. By fostering a spirit of goodwill, we empower veterans, individuals, and families to navigate their unique journeys with resilience, ensuring a path to a brighter and more sustainable future for all.
We envision a Nevada where no veteran faces homelessness, substance abuse, or unemployment. Our vision is to create a community where each veteran is provided with the resources needed to lead a fulfilling life. Through our Life Skills Mentor Program, a specialized initiative working with children, teens, and young adults, we strive to enhance key life skills such as anger and conflict management, job search and retention skills, time management, and substance abuse prevention. By fostering empowerment and resilience, we aim to build a future where veterans and our community members thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment.
